Adelyn Rose is so much her own independent person. She's tough as nails in so many ways and sweet as sugar in others. Last weekend she took on three boys in a tug of war. She held her own for a bit. But today at a birthday party, she came over to me twice to give me a hug or tell me she loves me. She loves bugs, and worms but will pick dresses to wear to go catch them. She's the best of both worlds, I guess.
I have always hated how fast time seems to go since she's been born. I seriously can't believe she's almost 5. If you says she's 4, she will promptly correct you and add that she's 4 and a half! I enjoy each year with her more than the last, but I miss how small she used to be. I love how sweet and loving she is now. Tonight when I put her to bed, she told me that she loved me more. She means it. She'll never understand though that I love her so much it scares the snot out of me! I hate how little I'll be able to protect her one day. The world is a scary place, and I just always want her to be safe and happy.
She melts my heart. I pray she has a wonderful life and that I do a good job being the mommy she needs me to be.
